Mr. U Gamini Sarath
Mr. U. G. Sarath is a career banker. He has a B.Sc. (Business Administration) from University of Ceylon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Arts degree from University of Colombo and Master of Business Administration from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He started his carrier at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Then he moved in to merchant banking. He worked at several merchant banking institutions in Sri Lanka where he managed to arrange large project finance deals. Mr. Sarath, with his 40 years of experience in the financial sector brings in immense value to the financing and commercial operations of the LTL Group. Before joining LTL Group, Mr. Sarath was the CEO of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL). Mr. Sarath currently serves as a Director, Lakdhanavi Limited whilst he also serves as the Chairman of Ceylex Engineering (Pvt.) Limited
Mr. M.J.M.N. Marikkar
Mr. Marikkar holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and a Masters degree in Construction Management from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. After graduation, he started his career as an Electrical Engineer in the power distribution company, Lanka Electricity Company (Private) Limited (LECO). He then moved to CEB, where he gained wider experience in managing Transmission Line/Substation projects. He has extensive experience in construction and project management in the electrical sector. Mr. Marikkar has overseen projects worth of more than LKR. 100 Bn including high voltage transmission lines, substations and all the power plant projects handled by LTL Group and has acted as the project director in all thermal power projects of the LTL Group implemented to date, whilst he functions as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the LTL Holdings Group.
Mr. R K Pitigalage
Mr. Pitigalage holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa,Sri Lanka and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) United Kingdom. He is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LTL Holdings Group for the past 15 years.
Prior to joining LTL Group, Mr. Pitigalage served ANZ Grindlays Bank-Colombo as an Assistant Manager. During his stint at LTL, Mr. Pitigalage has closely worked with a large number of financial institutions both in and outside Sri Lanka securing financing that augured the continuous growth of LTL. He has been involved in structuring, negotiating and securing large infrastructure projects which the total value exceeded USD 500 Mn. Some of the major financial deals spearheaded by him are the USD 325 Mn, Export Credit backed Syndication for a 300MW Combined Cycle Power Plant which HSBC-Hong Kong acted as the arranger (2008), USD 62 Mn. financing for a 100MW power plant (2003), the leveraged management buyout valued at USD 5 Mn of ABB shares in LTLH (2005), USD 25 Mn World Bank assisted 10MW Wind Power Project (2011) and USD 70 Mn. financing for the two 52.2 MW HFO Fired Power Plants in Bangladesh (2013-14). Mr. Pitigalage was selected as the CFO of the Year by CIMA-Sri Lanka in 2008.
Mr. Thamaka Thimbiripola
Mr. T. Thimbiripola started his career as Electrical Engineer. He has a BEng (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from University of Queen Mary, UK. His 1st assignment was as a project electrical and controls engineer for a 300MW Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC project with Lakdhanavi Ltd. Later on he was the lead electrical engineer of the O&M team for the above 300MW Yugadanavi Power Plant. He also worked as a Business Development engineer for power sector infrastructure development projects. As present he works as the Country Manager for Raj Lanka Power plant.
Mr. Daya Sumith Arangala
Sumith Arangala is the Director / Chief Executive Officer of LVL Energy Fund PLC (“LEF”). He represents LEF on the Boards of its investee companies and is a Non-Executive Independent Director of Renuka Agri Foods PLC and Durdans Heart Centre (Private) Limited. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Ventures PLC (“LVL”) from July 2002 to April 2016. Prior to joining LVL in October 2000, he worked at Capital Development and Investment Company Limited, the pioneer venture capital company in Sri Lanka for over 14 years and held the position of Assistant General Manager at the time of leaving the company. Being associated with the industry for over 30 years, he has considerable knowledge and experience in investing in private equity, venture capital and capital markets.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and a Graduate Diploma in Quality Technology from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. He is also a Graduate Member of The Institute of Engineers Australia.
Mr. Chandrien De Mel
Mr. Chandrien De Mel is the Senior Portfolio Manager of Lanka Ventures PLC.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Textile & Clothing Technology) from the University of Moratuwa and is a Passed Finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK. He is currently reading for his Bachelor of Laws Degree at the Open University of Sri Lanka.
Chandrien started his professional career in finance at MAS Holdings in 2009 and held the position of Accountant at MAS Bodyline at the time of leaving MAS Group to join LVL in 2011. He joined CIMB Investment Bank, Sri Lanka in 2014 and rejoined LVL in 2018 having gained valuable sell side exposure at the Bank.
Mr. Saiful Alam
Mr. Md. Saiful Alam completed his EMBA in Marketing from North South University. He has been serving in RMG sector for more than 16 years with great achievements. He has a substantial knowledge about 100% export-based garments industry. He is serving as the Managing Director and Director of few local companies in Bangladesh. Mr. Saiful occasionally serves as a guest lecturer at Universities in Dhaka.
